Ffion Piper

My name is Ffion Piper and I'm a 25 year Designer and Garment Technician at South Beach Official.

I hail originally from Anglesey, in North Wales, and at 19 began a Fashion Design degree at the University of South Wales. By the time I completed my second year, I had come to realise my passion lay with contour, and I applied to De Montfort, keen on learning the skill of lingerie design.

I've come to learn so much during my time at De Montfort, but am particularly keen on educating myself further on corsetry - something which is still new to me, but something I thoroughly enjoy and love.

 

I have worked part time as a seamstress at a clothing alterations company for the last two years. I have found my finishes and understanding of garment construction, as well as my attention to detail, have greatly improved during this time, and appreciate the craftsmanship of bespoke garments all the more.

I was also a 3rd year course representative for Contour Fashion, and ran for Deputy President of Education at DMU's Students Union in March 2017.
